Job summary

About the role

PT Sumbermasplast is seeking a skilled Injection Machine Setting Technician to join our engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Gresik District, Gresik, East Java. In this role, you will be responsible for the configuration, calibration, and optimisation of injection moulding machines to ensure they operate at peak performance and produce components that meet our exacting quality standards. This position is critical to maintaining our production efficiency and product quality, making it essential to our manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

Configure and set up injection moulding machines according to technical specifications and production requirements

Calibrate machine parameters including temperature, pressure, speed and injection time to achieve optimal production runs

Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on injection moulding equipment to prevent breakdowns

Monitor machine performance during production and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality standards

Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime

Conduct testing on produced components to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications

Document machine settings, maintenance records and production data accurately

Collaborate with production supervisors and quality assurance teams to optimise output and efficiency

Train and support junior technicians on machine operation and best practices

Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations in all work activities

What we're looking for

Formal qualification or certification in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline

Minimum 3-5 years of hands‑on experience setting up and operating injection moulding machines

Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes, equipment and parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, cooling)

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and machine specifications

Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in industrial machinery

Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and basic troubleshooting

Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues quickly

Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment

Experience with quality control and metrology tools is advantageous

Willingness to work shifts if required by production schedules
