Job summary

PT. Alcotraindo Batam is seeking a Mechanical Technician to inspect, install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment. You will diagnose malfunctions, read blueprints, and perform component replacements to ensure optimal performance.

This role requires a minimum of senior high school and at least 5 years of relevant experience in tobacco manufacturing machinery, with strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; willingness to work outside standard hours.

Qualifications

Job description

A Mechanical Technician is responsible for the inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment, often performing tasks like troubleshooting, component replacement, and routine upkeep. Key duties include diagnosing malfunctions, assembling and disassembling mechanical parts, calibrating machinery, reading blueprints and schematics, fabricating parts, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining detailed maintenance records to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate as Secondary Maker & Filter Technician to support production and services during the production activities, technical services activities and maintenance.
• Ensure availability of production machinery and equipment.
• Ensure the implementation and completion of projects as compliance to scope of work, specifications and timing.
• Utilize tools and equipment productively, maintain in good condition and make available at any time for use.
• Execute all maintenance work based on the procedures and requirements of asset management.
• Performs the tasks of maintenance planning
• Perform and analyzes maintenance work orders
• Performs other tasks he is qualified to do and as assigned by his superiors.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Senior high school
• A minimum of 5- years' experience as a Technician Maker & Filter machine tobacco manufacturing.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Able to understand technical drawing and machine manual book
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Great organizational and time management abilities.
• Good experience in handling machine Troubleshooting and maintenance
• Extensive experience in continues improvement activity / project
• Willingness to perform maintenance and repairs outside of business hours.

OTHERS:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial machinery.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report on operational status.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
