Job summary

PaxOcean Group in Batam, Indonesia, seeks a seasoned Supervisor to lead repair projects, overseeing 1–2 vessels, supervise HT scaffolding, and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

You will implement safety plans, follow PTW (Novade), assist with timekeeping, and liaise with clients and paint reps to keep work aligned with the schedule.

The role requires strong English communication and a hands-on approach to planning and problem solving on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience in shipyards/ship repair-related hull treatment scaffolding works as Supervisor.
• Proficiency in surface preparation techniques, standards and coating applications on marine/offshore vessels.
• Able to estimate vessel hull, tanks and structural areas (sqm) and quantify work and percentage.

• Lead repair projects as a Supervisor, overseeing 1–2 vessels depending on workload.

• Coordinate with clients, paint representatives and project management; follow PTW (Novade) systems.

Job Summary

Responsible for leading repair projects as a Supervisor, overseeing 1–2 vessels depending on workload. The role includes supervising HT scaffolding activities, managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and risk assessments, and coordinating with clients, paint representatives, and project management. Also accountable for following PTW (Novade) systems, handling departmental responsibilities in the absence of the HOD, and ensuring proper timekeeping and execution of all assigned works.

Key Responsibilities

• Min 10 yrs experience in shipyards/ship repair-related hull treatment scaffolding works as Supervisor.
• Must be fully conversant of different surface preparation techniques, standards and coating applications on marine and offshore vessels etc.
• Able to understand and estimate the vessel hull, tanks and the structure areas (in sqm) and able to quantify the work, percentage etc.
• Good communication skills, written and spoken English language is must and able to plan all HT scaffolding related activities on 2–3 vessels and able to co-ordinate with different subcons and supervise/control the jobs as per given plan/schedule.
• Physically fit and able to work for extended hrs to meet the job quality & schedule. To be in positive frame of mind.
• Must be able to decide the critical activities for the jobs and able to give good solutions to the client/project for the jobs when schedule is very short.
• Able to communicate effectively with owner reps/clients, project manager and paint reps etc.
