Job summary

PaxOcean in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking an Assistant Engineer (Hull & Outfitting) to prepare and review hull and outfitting drawings, 3D models, and production docs for shipbuilding, repair and conversions.

You will coordinate with production teams, clients, and classification societies to ensure designs meet project requirements and class rules, while providing technical support to resolve issues during execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in naval architecture or marine engineering.
• Minimum 2 years in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore or marine projects.
• Proficient in AVEVA Marine and AutoCAD; able to review drawings.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and regulations as per yard policy.
• Comply with manager, supervisor, designer and owner instructions to ensure quality work.
• Model, assemble and nest drawings for new builds, repairs, upgrades and conversions.
• Check and troubleshoot on-site issues during project progress.
• Review design drawings to meet customer and class society requirements.
• Aim to achieve KPI for the engineering department.

Job Summary

Assistant Engineer, Hull & Outfitting responsible for preparing and reviewing hull and outfitting engineering drawings, 3D models, and production documents to support shipbuilding, ship repair, and conversion projects. Coordinate with production teams, clients, and classification societies to ensure designs meet project requirements, quality standards, and class regulations, while providing technical support to resolve engineering issues during project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• To follow the Safety Rules and Regulation set refers to Occupational Health & Safety Policyand Environmental Policy by the yard.
• Comply with manager, supervisors, Designer and Owner instructions and perform toachieve quality work.
• Perform modeling, assembly, nesting drawing for new building, repair/upgrade & conversion.
• To check & troubleshoot in case have issue on site during progress of the project
• Review and checking design drawing to suit customer satisfaction and classification society.
• To achieve KPI engineering department

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma (D3/D4) in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related
• Min. 2 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or marine engineering projectsdiscipline
• Proficient in AVEVA Marine, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering software
• Ability to review engineering drawings and technical documents independently
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience in coordinating with clients, classification societies and production teams.
