Job summary

Austin is seeking a Project Control Engineer to join our team in Batam, Indonesia, to drive and control engineering and fabrication projects. You will collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to keep schedules, budgets, and quality on track.

Required: engineering degree, 5+ years in project control, proficiency in MS Office and reading drawings; experience in heavy industries is a plus. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; 5+ years in project control/management.
• Experience in plate fabrication or as a workshop supervisor in heavy industries is a plus.
• Senior High School graduates with 7 years of similar experience in manufacturing can also apply.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
• Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and working with databases (MS Access).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus (optional).
• Able to calculate costs for Labor, materials, consumables, and subcontractors.
• Experience preparing project take-offs, Bills of Materials (BOM), and coordinating with procurement.
• Knowledge of structural steel, process piping, modular structures, and heavy plate fabrication.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Capable of leading daily production meetings and project kick-off meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Create schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment across teams
• Progress Monitoring: Track project timelines, costs, and KPIs; forecast outcomes and address issues
• Cost Control: Monitor expenses, prevent overruns, and maintain financial control
• Risk Management: Identify risks and implement strategies to minimize delays and disruptions
• Communication & Reporting: Prepare clear updates and reports for stakeholders and management
• Continuous Improvement: Suggest process improvements and promote best practices
• Meeting Leadership: Lead daily production and project kickoff meetings to drive progress
