Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Cost Controller to support ongoing projects in Indonesia by monitoring costs, maintaining budget control, and enabling efficient project execution. You will develop cost control plans, analyze variances, forecast financials, and prepare reports for management, collaborating with project managers and finance teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 3-5 years in cost control.
• Proficiency in Excel; cost accounting principles.
• Experience with project control/planning preferred.
• Ability to communicate financial data to non-financial colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Budget management: Develop and maintain detailed cost control plans, set up cost breakdown structures, and allocate budgets/resources.
• Cost analysis: Collect and analyze financial data, track variances, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Forecasting: Prepare accurate financial forecasts and update them regularly to reflect project progress.
• Reporting: Generate internal cost reports, reconcile project costs with accounting records, and present findings to management.
• Compliance: Review subcontractor invoices, validate change orders, and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
• Risk management: Perform cost risk analysis, define contingency reserves, and contribute to project risk assessments.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth cost control processes

Qualifications

Experience, skills, and knowledge

• Minimum 3-5 years in cost control.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in Excel, and cost accounting principles, able to operate Microsoft Project or Primavera preferred.
• Project control/planning experience: prior exposure to project control or project planning is highly preferred, as it strengthens budgeting and scheduling alignment
