Job summary

Ajaib Group is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for the Investment team to set the technical direction for stock trading systems, spanning order management, market data, portfolio, and exchange integrations. You will tackle challenges in correctness, latency, and reliability at peak volume while staying hands-on where it matters.

You will define architecture, lead fault-tolerant service design, and ensure robust financial data flows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in large-scale, high-traffic systems.
• Experience designing and running distributed microservice architectures.
• Strong background in trading/financial systems, data integrity and latency awareness.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction and architecture for trading systems across teams.
• Lead design of fault-tolerant, low-latency services and review critical designs.
• Ensure correctness in financial flows including idempotency, reconciliation, and audit trails.
• Plan for peak load and failure scenarios; drive load testing and capacity planning.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering standards for reliability and security.
