Job summary

Akar Inti Teknologi (AIT) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer Java (Dedicated) to lead backend design and delivery. You will collaborate with engineers to gather requirements, solve complex problems, and ensure scalable, reliable systems.

You will mentor junior developers, contribute to software refresh and extensions, and help raise coding standards across projects, with a focus on performance, observability, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Strong software architecture and clean, modular, testable code.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and data consistency.

About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer Java (Dedicated), you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions that drive our projects forward. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to gather requirements, solve technical challenges, and ensure high-quality deliverables. In this role, you will lead development initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to our software refresh and extension projects.

Job Descriptions:

• Analyze complex technical problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable software solutions.
• Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and load testing, and compile reports.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed modules.
• Ensure software development aligns with client requirements and coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Lead and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of technical excellence
• Follow standards development from client.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience or certifications/courses, is required.
• Must have at least 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles and writing clean, modular, and testable business logic.
• Hands-on experience in database design, schema optimization, and ensuring data consistency (SQL/NoSQL databases).
• Strong knowledge of application performance optimization, including query optimization, caching strategies, concurrency handling, and memory management.
• Experience in writing unit tests and integration tests to ensure code reliability and maintainability.
• Familiarity with API integration and collaboration with frontend engineers.
• Experience with deployment processes, production monitoring, and troubleshooting in live environments.
• Strong understanding of logging, observability, error handling, and improving system reliability.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and participating in code reviews.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar DevOps tools is a plus.
• Strong documentation skills for APIs and system architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
