Job summary

Flex is seeking an SMT Equipment Engineer to be based in Batam, Indonesia. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving SMT production equipment to ensure optimal performance, product quality, and cost efficiency.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams on maintenance planning, NPI support, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will fit well if you have a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in SMT maintenance,

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
At least 3 years SMT maintenance or production engineering experience.
Knowledge of SMT equipment and manufacturing processes.
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance methodologies.
Ability to analyze data and drive continuous improvement.
Good IT skills and English proficiency.
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Ability to work in diverse teams.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, machine, and instrument failures in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain machine maintenance plans and schedules.
Conduct machine setup and support equipment commissioning activities.
Support new product introduction (NPI), industrialization, and production transfer projects.
Analyze equipment, quality, or production issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure equipment performance meets quality and production requirements.
Verify equipment capability and process readiness prior to customer acceptance.
Improve equipment efficiency, productivity, reliability and safety.
Drive cost reduction through maintenance optimization.
Define and improve technical requirements, workmanship standards, and maintenance practices.
Manage maintenance suppliers and external service providers as required.
Control and optimize spare parts inventory and maintain documentation.
Provide technical guidance and training to technicians/operators.
Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.
Perform other duties and projects assigned by management.
