About the Company

Markov Construction is a Bali-based construction company specialising in large-scale construction projects.

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager specialising in structural works, with a proven large-scale project track record and direct practical experience using modular-formwork systems.

The position reports to the Senior Construction Project Manager and works closely with the Directors, site engineers, supervisors, surveyors, QA/QC and HSE personnel, Procurement Manager, Senior Estimator, Financial Controller, Warehouse and Logistics Manager, consultants, subcontractors, mandor and workers.

The Site Manager will be responsible for controlling daily structural construction, modular-formwork cycles, programme, labour productivity, materials, equipment, quality, documentation and safety.

Key Responsibilities
Site & Structural Management

Manage structural works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, construction methodologies and project programmes.

Control setting out, excavation, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, structural steel, embedded items and related temporary works.

Coordinate columns, walls, beams, slabs, stairs and other structural elements in the correct construction sequence.

Review structural drawings before work begins and identify missing information, conflicts and constructability problems.

Coordinate structural, architectural and MEP drawings, including openings, sleeves and embedded services.

Ensure no structural change proceeds without the required engineering review and approval.

Coordinate site engineers, supervisors, surveyors, safety personnel, mandor, subcontractors and workers.

Establish clear daily responsibilities, quantities and completion targets.

Conduct daily inspections and maintain control of progress, quality, productivity and safety.

Resolve site problems promptly and elevate major issues to the Senior Construction Project Manager.

Maintain a professional, organised and productive construction site.

Modular Formwork Management

Direct modular-formwork experience is mandatory.

The Site Manager will:

Review modular-formwork drawings, layouts, components and assembly requirements.

Plan work zones, pour sequences and repeatable cycles for columns, walls, beams and slabs.

Determine the labour, panels, props, ties, brackets and accessories required for each cycle.

Coordinate erection, alignment, inspection, concrete placement, striking, back-propping and movement to the next work area.

Ensure formwork is properly braced, levelled, sealed, cleaned and inspected before concrete placement.

Prevent premature striking or removal of structural supports.

Monitor cycle times and take practical action to improve productivity.

Train and supervise teams in the correct and safe use of the modular system.

Control the cleaning, repair, storage, movement and reuse of all components.

Prevent unauthorised cutting or modification and minimise damage, loss and theft.

Maintain accurate records of panels, props, ties, brackets and accessories.

Coordinate formwork movements and returns with the Warehouse and Logistics Manager.

Experience limited to traditional timber formwork is not sufficient. Candidates must have direct practical experience with modular aluminium, steel or comparable panelised formwork systems.

Programme, Productivity & Resource Control

Translate the main project programme into practical weekly and daily site plans.

Coordinate reinforcement, formwork, embedded services, inspections and concrete pours to maintain continuous workflow.

Confirm that labour, materials, equipment, formwork, drawings, access and approvals are available before activities begin.

Monitor actual progress and completed quantities against planned targets.

Identify delays, labour shortages and productivity problems early and prepare practical recovery actions.

Submit accurate material and equipment requirements early enough to meet the programme.

Check delivered materials against approved specifications, quantities and delivery documents.

Reject or quarantine damaged, incorrect or non-compliant materials.

Monitor material usage, waste, stock, tools, formwork and structural equipment.

Ensure materials and equipment are stored, protected and accounted for correctly.

Coordinate requirements, quantities and delivery dates with the Procurement Manager, Senior Estimator and Warehouse and Logistics Manager.

Provide accurate progress information to support the verification of supplier and subcontractor work before payments are recommended.

The Site Manager supports progress verification but does not independently approve commercial payments.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Implement the project Quality Management Plan, Inspection and Test Plans and activity checklists.

Ensure structural work follows the latest approved drawings, specifications and methodologies.

Inspect reinforcement, formwork, gridlines, dimensions, levels, verticality, concrete cover, laps, couplers, openings, sleeves and embedded items before every concrete pour.

Confirm formwork stability, bracing, cleanliness, joints, access and alignment.

Ensure required internal, consultant and MEP inspections are completed before work is concealed or concrete is placed.

Coordinate concrete mix approvals, slump tests, cube samples and other required testing.

Control concrete ordering, placement, vibration, finishing, curing and protection.

Prevent honeycombing, cold joints, misalignment, dimensional errors and other structural defects.

Maintain inspection, testing and concrete-pour records.

Issue or support non-conformance reports and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Stop defective, unsafe or unapproved work from continuing.

Verify completed structural sections before formal inspection and certification.

Quality control must be proactive. Problems must be identified and corrected before concrete is placed.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare accurate daily and weekly site reports covering labour, subcontractors, equipment, deliveries, completed quantities, progress and delays.

Maintain updated progress photographs, inspection records and concrete-pour records.

Ensure site teams work only from the latest approved drawings.

Record site instructions, technical issues, consultant comments, responsible persons and required completion dates.

Prepare RFIs when drawings or specifications are incomplete, conflicting or unclear.

Maintain registers for inspections, tests, concrete pours, defects and non-conformances.

Provide measurements, photographs and supporting evidence for progress claims and completed structural sections.

Maintain records supporting variations, delay notices and extensions of time.

Provide accurate updates to the Senior Construction Project Manager and Directors.

Assist with as-built records and project close-out documentation.

Safety & Site Standards

Ensure structural activities comply with company safety procedures and applicable Indonesian requirements.

Coordinate risk assessments and safe work methods for structural and formwork activities.

Maintain safe access, working platforms, scaffolding, edge protection and housekeeping.

Control lifting operations, concrete pumps and the movement of heavy formwork panels.

Ensure formwork, temporary supports and back-propping remain safe and stable.

Conduct daily briefings and toolbox meetings.

Stop unsafe work where necessary.

Ensure incidents, hazards and unsafe practices are reported, investigated and corrected.
