Job summary

PT ODG Indonesia seeks an experienced Superintendent to manage on-site progress across all project phases, supervise workers, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence within budget. The role requires coordinating with the Project Manager and Division Manager, interpreting drawings, and enforcing contract terms.

You will lead teams, plan manpower and equipment, review progress reports, and maintain strong client relations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering required.
• Proficient in English scientific/technical terminology.
• 10+ years in construction with at least 3 years in data centre projects; 5+ years in a supervisory role.
• Familiarity with project management software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Job description

To manage on-site work progress for all phases of projects, including overseeing the supervisor's work progress, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety, including but not limited to fulfill the client's requirement of manpower amount, ensure the quality of manpower by implement several learning and development program.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Ensure the drawing is correctly interpreted by the supervisors and has been delivered to subordinates, including but not limited to reviewing the drawing, e.g., comparing the suitability between the drawing and the real condition in the field.

2. Interpret and deliver the project plan to the subordinates, delegate tasks clearly to the subordinates, especially to the Supervisor, including the project regulations/ contract; manhour, time target completion, equipment/ material needed, safety and quality requirements, etc.

3. Evaluate the work progress that reported by the supervisors, e.g. the material supply, manpower supply, work progress completion as scheduled, work quality and safety compliance, and any other obstacles occurred regarding to the completion of the tasks or workers adherence to regulations, including but not limited to arrange solutions of the occurred problem, and direct monitor the work progress to site periodically or when it's needed.

4. Maintain the relationship between the client and the company by ensuring timely completion of outstanding or additional customer service requests and maintain a high level of customer service satisfaction, including but not limited to attending meetings with the client to assist the Project Manager/ Division Manager or other external parties related to project interests.

5. Provide both oral and written reports regarding the work progress periodically to the Project Manager/ Division Manager, including the basic monitoring report of expenses and remaining budget.

6. Implement typical leadership responsibilities; carry out a transfer knowledge programme, as well as coaching, mentoring and counselling to develop and improve the manpower quality, including but not limited to involved in the hiring process of new manpower to fulfill the amount of manpower requirements.

7. Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Project Manager/ Division Manager and/or management within known skills, knowledge and capabilities.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Proficient in English, particularly in technical terminology.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, including at least 3 years of experience in data centre projects, preferably with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.

Proficient in word processing, database applications, and internet usage. Familiarity with project management software is preferred.

Ability to read, interpret, understand, and analyse technical drawings and designs provided as part of client inquiries.

Strong communication and negotiation skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers.

Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to lead, coordinate, and supervise teams effectively.

Possession of relevant professional certifications required for the job specialization, as dictated by project requirements and applicable laws and regulations (e.g., POP certification or Project Management certification).
