Brinks is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to lead the commercial lines underwriting team in Pekanbaru, Riau. The role focuses on driving profitable growth by overseeing underwriting processes, guidelines, and risk assessment quality.

You will manage a team of skilled underwriters, develop policies, analyze market trends, and collaborate with sales and claims to ensure top-tier client service and portfolio performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in commercial lines underwriting, with at least 3 years in supervision.
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products (property, casualty, specialty).
• Proven leadership to motivate and manage a team.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities on risk assessment.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop team to achieve production and quality goals.
• Develop, implement, enforce underwriting policies, procedures, and authority levels.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, portfolio performance.
• Approve or decline complex or large commercial risks.
• Collaborate with sales and claims to ensure cohesive client service and risk management.
• Conduct regular reviews of underwriting files for guideline adherence and profitability.
