Job summary

Kitabisa is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to lead testing efforts from design to deployment within a cross-functional squad in Jakarta.

You will design, develop, and maintain test policies and automation scripts using MochaChai, Playwright, and WebDriverIO, coordinating with developers and PMs to deliver a high-quality product.

Required: 5+ years in software testing, experience with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and familiarity with AI-enabled testing approaches.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in testing software, including test automation and testing frameworks.
• Experience designing and developing tools used across teams; strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in object-oriented languages and scripting (TypeScript, Go) and AI familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead/contribute to engineering testing efforts from design to production.
• Create and execute smoke, regression, functional and user-acceptance testing.
• Define test policies and automation strategies for both automated and manual testing.
• Track task progress, report in-sprint status, and ensure high-quality product releases.
• Develop and maintain test automation systems, tools and scripts following best practices.
• Review design docs and requirements; plan how to build testability into the product.

• Working within a squad and coordinating with developers, PM, and other team members to deliver a high-quality product, implementing test policies and strategies for testing, both automated and manual.
• Perform several aspects of testing including smoke, regression, functional, user acceptance.
• Track and communicate task progress, status on in-sprint and regression testing, quality product, testing reports and monitor the project and tasks to production.
• Design, develop, improve and maintain test automation systems, tools and test scripts using best practices.
• Review engineering technical design documents and requirements. Provide a plan and strategy about how and where to build in testability.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in testing software. Experience in one or more of the following: test automation, refactoring code, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging, building tools and testing frameworks.
• Excellent attitude and communication skills.
• Experience in designing and developing tools and solutions used across teams.
• Development experience in object-oriented programming languages and patterns.
• Good knowledge of programming/scripting TypeScript and Go.
• Familiar and have experience in utilizing AI.
• Familiar with Automation Test Web, API and Mobile (e.g., MochaChai, WebDriverIO, Playwright).
• Familiar with Performance Tests (e.g., K6,).
• Familiar with Continuous Integration systems (e.g., Github Actions).
• Having experience using Docker and containerized architectures (e.g. Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Having experience in Security Testing is a plus.
• Having experience in development (Backend, Frontend or Mobile) is a plus.
