Job summary

OrgScale Recruitment Sdn Bhd is seeking an Automation QA Lead to own automation strategy and architecture across our products. This hands-on leadership role builds frameworks, tooling, and standards the QA org relies on, while growing a team of automation engineers.

You will design scalable test frameworks, drive AI-augmented automation, and ensure robust CI/CD integration. Stay hands-on, write and review automation code, and mentor colleagues to raise the technical bar.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in test automation with hands-on Playwright and TypeScript.
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and growing automation engineers.
• AI competency and ability to apply AI tools to automation.
• Alignment with high autonomy, ownership, and bar-raising mindset.
• Strong programming fundamentals and code craftsmanship.
• Experience with CI/CD, test infrastructure, and DevOps tooling.

Job description

We are accelerating our expansion in R&D and product development. We're looking for an Automation QA Lead to own automation strategy and architecture across our products — building the frameworks, tooling, and standards the whole QA org relies on, and leading and growing a team of automation engineers. This is a hands-on technical leadership role: your leverage comes both from the systems you build and the engineers you make better.

Responsibilities

Own automation strategy, architecture, and standards across multiple products and projects.

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of automation engineers — success is measured by them outperforming and outgrowing you.

Design and evolve scalable test frameworks and tooling that the whole QA org adopts.

Drive AI-augmented automation across the team (AI-assisted test generation, maintenance, and triage) and hold AI competency as a baseline standard.

Own automation coverage, reliability, and test infrastructure — CI/CD integration, reporting, and flaky-test reduction.

Set and continuously raise the technical bar for automation code craftsmanship across the team.

Partner with developers, product managers, architects, and QA Leads to embed quality and automation into delivery.

Stay hands-on — write and review automation code, unblock the team, and set standards by example.

Help build the automation talent bench — contribute actively to hiring and keep a pipeline of strong candidates warm.

Requirements

6+ years in test automation with deep hands-on expertise in Playwright and TypeScript (or a strong equivalent), including test framework architecture.

Proven experience leading, mentoring, and growing automation engineers.

AI competency (required). Fluent in applying AI tools to automation and driving their adoption across the team. This is a baseline expectation, not a plus.

Strong programming fundamentals and a strong advocate of code craftsmanship and quality deliverables.
