PT Matahari Terbit Kalimantan is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to manage all Indonesian tax obligations, including corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding tax. You will prepare and file monthly and annual tax returns, and lead tax planning to optimize the company's position.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Taxation, professional tax certification, and strong knowledge of Indonesian tax laws. You will interact with tax authorities and coordinate with external advisors.
This role involves managing and overseeing the company's tax obligations, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and other applicable taxes in compliance with Indonesian tax regulations. You will prepare, review, and submit monthly and annual tax returns and other tax-related reports accurately and within statutory deadlines, while developing and implementing strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize the company's tax position.
Key responsibilities
Manage and oversee the company's tax obligations, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and other applicable taxes in compliance with Indonesian tax regulations
Prepare, review, and submit monthly and annual tax returns and other tax-related reports accurately and within statutory deadlines
Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations
Handle tax audits, tax assessments, correspondence, and inquiries with the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) and other relevant tax authorities
Analyze business transactions and provide appropriate tax treatment and documentation to ensure tax compliance and audit readiness
Manage transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with Indonesian transfer pricing regulations
Provide tax advice and recommendations to senior management on the tax implications of business transactions, corporate decisions, and strategies
Monitor changes in Indonesian tax regulations and assess their potential impact on the company's business operations
Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve tax issues and ensure smooth tax audits
Supervise and provide guidance to junior accountants on tax compliance, accounting procedures, and financial reporting
About you
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in taxation
Bachelor's degree (S1) in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution
Professional tax certification, such as Brevet A and/or Brevet B issued by a recognized tax training institution, or other relevant international tax certifications
Strong understanding of the latest Indonesian tax regulations (PPh, PPN, etc.)
Proficient in tax applications (Coretax, e-Bupot, e-SPT, and DJP Online)
In-depth knowledge of Indonesian tax laws, regulations, and applicable tax administration procedures
Proven experience in managing tax audits, tax examinations, tax assessments, and tax dispute resolution
Strong knowledge and practical experience in transfer pricing, international taxation, and the tax treatment of complex business transactions
Proficiency in accounting and tax software, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Fluent in English (mandatory for speaking and listening); excellent communication and presentation skills in Bahasa Indonesia
