Job summary

PaxOcean seeks an experienced Steel Manager in Batam to oversee daily steel fabrication and installation for shipbuilding projects. You will optimize manpower, materials, and production schedules while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities include coordinating with engineering, procurement, and QC, supervising welders and fabricators, and providing progress reports and risk assessments. A strong leadership track record in shipyards is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of shipbuilding experience.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Experience as Steel Fabrication Manager in shipyard.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings, ship plans, and specs.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, welding, and quality standards.
• Strong leadership of multi-national teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily steel fabrication and installation activities for shipbuilding projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
• Plan, organize, and control steel fabrication and assembly operations in the shipyard.
• Supervise welders, fabricators, and supervisory staff to meet productivity targets.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and QC to align with design specs.
• Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, and project documentation.
