Job summary

PaxOcean in Batam, Indonesia, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineering leader to drive mechanical activities for shipbuilding and repairs, from planning to commissioning and maintenance. You will ensure compliance with international standards, class requirements, and HSE regulations while delivering on quality, safety, cost, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of mechanical and Marine engineering experience.
• Experience with mechanical spare parts and critical spares.
• Experience with procurement for technical evaluation and purchasing.
• Knowledge of inventory optimization and usage tracking.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with conveyors, boilers, chillers, HVAC, pressure vessels, and piping.
• Ability to read/review engineering drawings, layouts, and P&IDs.
• Experience working under HSE, ISO, or statutory safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical scope planning for new build and repair projects.
• Ensure compliance with class requirements and international codes.
• Oversee repairs per best marine practices.
• Ensure quality, safety, and performance standards.
• Coordinate procurement of materials and tools.
• Review and approve mechanical designs and specs.
• Collaborate with classification societies and inspectors.
• Maintain documentation and records per policy.
• Ensure projects are on time, within scope and budget.
• Provide technical guidance to team.
