Job summary

Mekari is looking for an Automation Engineer to strengthen the QA team and ensure product quality across Mekari's SaaS portfolio, including Mekari Jurnal, Talenta, Qontak and Flex.

You will estimate testing work, review test artifacts, and push for automation-first practices while collaborating with EM/HOE to improve quality metrics. Regularly participate in Scrum events and help align squad OKRs with tribe goals.

Qualifications

• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
• Proficient in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience testing microservices on cloud platforms (AWS/Alicloud/GCP).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD exposure with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Strong API testing skills (REST, performance tools).
• Knowledge of SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL).

Responsibilities

• Testing estimations and prioritisation within sprints.
• Review test artifacts such as test cases, testRail reports, automation scripts, and bugs.
• Collaborate with EM/HOE to set and track quality metrics.
• Raise quality standards with best practices and testing techniques.
• Regular 1:1s with direct reports and their leaders.
• Advocate automation skills and an automation-first testing approach.
• Hands-on with one or more features.
• Participate in Scrum events and tribe OKR discussions.
• Set squad OKRs aligned with tribe OKRs.

Job Descriptions

• Testing estimations and prioritisations within sprints
• Reviewing of test artifacts such as test cases, testrail reports, automation scripts, reported bugs on different environments and/or RFCs (if any)
• Setting in collaboration with EM/HOE and tracking quality metrics
• Raising the quality bar by applying the best quality practices and testing techniques
• Regular 1:1s with direct reports and their leader (EM or HOE)
• Pushing for automation skill sets within the team and automation first testing approach
• Hands-on with 1 or more features
• Participating in scrum events and tribe level OKR discussions
• Setting squad specific OKRs driven through tribe OKRs

Requirements/Qualifications

• Automation Mastery: Deep expertise in modern automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium) and languages (Python, Java, or JavaScript).
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience testing microservices architectures hosted on AWS, Alicloud, or GCP. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a major plus.
• CI/CD Integration: Proven track record of integrating automated suites into pipelines like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• API Testing: Strong command of RESTful API testing and performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, or k6).
• Knowledgeable in SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
