Job summary

Nippon Koei Energy Asia is seeking a Senior Power System Engineer to drive power system analysis and grid integration studies for Indonesian renewable energy projects. The role requires collaboration with grid operators, utilities, developers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

The ideal candidate will lead technical analyses, develop specifications, and coordinate data collection across projects, with strong communication and international teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems or related field.
• 7–10 years of professional experience in power system studies, grid integration, utility planning, renewable energy, consulting, or T&D projects.
• Proven experience conducting power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, protection coordination, harmonic analysis, and grid connection assessments.
• Strong proficiency in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with renewables projects (Solar PV, Wind, BESS, Hybrid) and grid code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, protection coordination, and grid integration studies for renewable energy projects.
• Perform grid impact assessments and support interconnection studies per utility standards.
• Support clients during technical meetings, workshops, and discussions with grid operators and utilities.
• Develop technical specifications and engineering requirements for power system equipment and infrastructure.

• Support proposal preparation, technical submissions, and presentations to prospective clients.
• Prepare project execution plans, schedules, progress reports, risk registers, and technical documentation.
• Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables meet objectives and contractual requirements.

We are looking for a Senior Power System Engineer to support the expansion of our renewable energy and power system consulting activities in Indonesia. You will be responsible for leading power system analysis studies, supporting grid integration assessments, and providing technical expertise throughout project development and execution phases. The role involves close collaboration with clients, grid operators, off-takers, project developers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure the successful delivery of power system studies and engineering consulting assignments. You will contribute to projects ranging from renewable energy integration, transmission and distribution systems, grid impact assessments, and power network planning studies.

You will evolve in an international environment and work in close coordination with other teams throughout the company to deliver projects at the highest quality standards.

Missions

Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems or related field
• Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience in power system studies, grid integration, utility planning, renewable energy, consulting, or transmission and distribution projects
• Proven experience conducting power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, protection coordination, harmonic analysis, and grid connection assessments
• Strong proficiency in industry-standard simulation software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP, or equivalent tools
• Experience supporting renewable energy projects including Solar PV, Wind, BESS, Hybrid Systems, or Energy Transition projects
• Familiarity with transmission systems, substations, distribution networks, and grid code compliance requirements
• Strong understanding of international standards and guidelines including IEC, IEEE, CIGRE, and utility regulations
• Experience interfacing with utilities, grid operators, project developers, EPC contractors, consultants, and government authorities
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and project execution activities as required
• Professional Engineer certification or relevant professional membership is an advantage
