Job summary

Siemens PTI Indonesia seeks a Senior Power System Consultant to support its growing portfolio of power system studies, renewable integration, and dynamic simulations.

The role combines deep power system knowledge with strong Python-based automation, leveraging PSCAD, EMTP, PowerFactory, and PSS/E/PSS SINCAL. A Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering plus 7+ years in the field is preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems.
• Strong Python-based workflow automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with PSCAD, EMTP, PowerFactory, PSS/E and PSS/SINCAL.
• Power system analysis and dynamic studies in real projects.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review PTI project studies for Utility and Industry.
• Develop, maintain, and automate power system simulation workflows using tools such as PSCAD, PSCAD, PSS®E, and PSS®SINCAL.
• Project execution of technical studies including load flow, time-series, dynamic and transient stability.
• Build Python-based tools for data processing, batch runs, model generation and reporting.
• Prepare technical reports and client-facing materials; collaborate with project managers.
• Work independently and in project teams, contributing to methodology improvement.

We are looking for a Senior Power System Consultant to support Siemens PTI’s growing portfolio of technical consulting projects in power system studies, renewable integration, dynamic simulation, and engineering automation.

The role will contribute to model development, simulation execution, study automation, and technical delivery across projects involving transmission networks, inverter-based resources, renewable plants, and advanced grid studies. The candidate is expected to combine solid power system knowledge with strong programming capability, especially in Python-based workflow automation.

You’ll create impact by:

• Lead and review PTI project studies for Utility and Industry
• Develop, maintain, and automate power system simulation workflows using tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, PSS®SINCAL, and related platforms
• Project execution of technical studies including:
• load flow and time-series simulation
• dynamic and transient stability studies
• renewable and BESS integration studies
• model validation and performance assessment
• Build Python-based tools/scripts for:
• case preparation and data processing
• batch simulation execution
• model generation and conversion
• automated result extraction and reporting
• Conversion and preparation of network and plant models across different simulation environments
• Integrating and troubleshooting inverter-based resource models and control models
• Contribute to study methodology improvement, internal tool development, and engineering productivity enhancement
• Build of technical reports, engineering notes, and client-facing materials
• Work closely with project manager and power system engineer in project delivery
• Doctor’s degree or minimum Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems
• Good analysis in:
• power system analysis
• dynamic behavior of power systems
• renewable energy integration
• transmission system modeling
• Hands-on experience with some of the following tools:
• PSCAD
• EMTP, Power Factory
• Strong programming capability in Python for engineering automation and data processing
• Ability to understand model structures, simulation logic, APIs, and technical workflows
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken
• Preferred Profile:
• Working experience for minimum 7 years in power system
• Experience in dynamic studies, transient stability, or renewable plant/grid integration
• Experience in automation of simulation workflows and repetitive engineering tasks
• Familiarity with model conversion, event generation, instrumentation, or automated study setup is an advantage
• Strong problem-solving mindset, especially in debugging simulation and model performance issues
• Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively in project teams
