Job summary

GoTo Group is seeking a Senior People Analytics Specialist to turn people data into insights, guiding leaders on the why behind the numbers and translating findings into actionable recommendations for the people strategy.

You will bridge People, Data, and Business, collaborating with TA, L&D, and Total Rewards to solve workforce challenges, maintain HRIS data integrity, and craft compelling narratives for executives.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of data analysis experience, ideally in an HR context.
• Deep understanding of HR metrics, talent lifecycles and employee engagement frameworks.
• Adept in SQL: write clean queries, joins and aggregations to extract data from a Data Warehouse.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel/Google Sheets) including INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables.
• Analytical mindset and curiosity about the why behind data trends.
• Data storytelling: present technical data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and ability to connect people insights with business priorities.
• High discretion and judgment when handling confidential people data.

About the Role

In this role, you will bridge the gap between People, Data, and Business, helping leaders understand not just what is happening within our workforce, understanding the "why" behind the numbers, and translating insights into actionable recommendations that shape our people strategy.

Responsibilities

• Analyze key workforce metrics (retention, engagement, hiring, diversity, performance) to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.


• Conduct analysis to uncover root causes behind workforce issues such as attrition spikes and hiring bottlenecks.


• Structure and maintain recurring headcount dashboards and ad-hoc report requests.


• Translate raw talent data into digestible insights, executive summaries, and visual stories for HR Business Partners and business leaders.


• Work closely with HR teams (TA, L&D, Total Rewards) to understand their operational challenges and define data-driven solutions.


• Query and extract data efficiently using SQL and spreadsheets.


• Ensure data privacy, governance, and strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.


• Audit and maintain high data accuracy across human resource information systems (HRIS).

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in data analysis, with a strong preference for experience within an HR context (e.g., HR Generalist with strong analytical flair, People Operations Analyst, or Talent Data Analyst).

Deep understanding of HR metrics, talent lifecycles, and employee engagement frameworks.

Adept in SQL: Ability to write clean queries, joins, and aggregations to extract data from the Data Warehouse.

Advanced Spreadsheet Skills: Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets (e.g., INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data validation, complex nested formulas).

Analytical Approach: Strong diagnostic mindset and curious about the why behind data trends, not just reporting the numbers.

Data Storytelling: Ability to present technical data clearly to non-technical stakeholders in a conversational, actionable way.

Strong business acumen and ability to connect people insights with business priorities.

High level of discretion, empathy, and judgment when handling confidential people data.

About the Team

It's an Individual Contributor role, part of the HRIS team. This broader team drives and maintains the People and Culture tools across the department/ function for example, L&D tools, survey tools as well as Workday. Working in this team - your key stakeholders are the PAC leadership team and people business partners. You’ll work very closely with all teams across PAC translating data into meaningful insights so we can identify and manage relevant interventions and generate key reports for the business. This role has access to lost of sensitive information so maturity and trust are important aspect for this role.
