Job description

Title: Senior Operations Associate, Indonesia

Location and Work Authorization: Indonesia, Jakarta, with current and ongoing work authorization.

Position: Full-time

Posted On: 11 September 2026

Application Deadline: 2 October 2026, 6 pm WIB (Western Indonesia Time / Waktu Indonesia Barat) (applications will be reviewed as they are submitted)

About The Role:

PxD is hiring a Senior Operations Associate to help build our presence in Indonesia from the ground up - someone who is comfortable working through ambiguity, navigates process and structure thoughtfully, and is motivated to get things done.

This is a hands-on, foundational role for someone who thrives in fast-moving, evolving environments and is energized by the challenge of standing up operations in a new country context. You'll play a central role in keeping day-to-day operations organized and on track - coordinating across HR-adjacent, administrative, and operational functions - while working closely with PxD's wider team, local partners, vendors, and employment/compliance providers (such as an Employer of Record) to help ensure operations run smoothly and in step with local practices.

The ideal candidate brings strong organizational instincts, sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and a solid understanding of the Indonesian regulatory and business environment, along with genuine enthusiasm for the operational, administrative, and problem-solving work that comes with building something new. You'll balance structure and flexibility - helping to implement smart processes and best practices while staying adaptable as priorities shift - and you'll bring strong communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including consultants, partners, and cross-cultural teams.

About PxD:

Precision Development (PxD) is a global non‑profit with the mission to scale innovations that millions of smallholder farmers in low‑and‑middle‑income countries can use to improve their lives. PxD's primary approach is delivering timely, evidence‑based digital information to farmers via basic mobile phones.

So far, PxD has scaled digital agriculture services to more than 46 million farmers across Africa and Asia. PxD scales these digital information services through three models: i) direct service delivery to farmers; ii) improvement of partners' existing services; and iii) strategic government advisory.

Responsibilities:

Will evolve as the role develops; key initial areas below.

  • Manage day‑to‑day operational and administrative tasks across the Indonesia program, keeping timelines, deliverables, and multiple workstreams on track.

  • Coordinate with PxD's Employer of Record (EOR) provider on HR‑adjacent logistics — such as onboarding scheduling, equipment/access setup, and general employee support — without owning formal employment decisions, contracts, payroll, or personnel records, which remain with the EOR.

  • Support coordination of local regulatory and administrative requirements, working alongside PxD's legal and compliance advisors, without acting as PxD's legal representative on compliance matters.

  • Identify and flag operational challenges as they arise, looping in the right internal teams or external advisors to resolve them.

  • Source, onboard, and manage relationships with local vendors and service providers to meet the program's operational needs.

  • Support travel and events — coordinating logistics for staff travel, field visits, workshops, donor meetings, and other program events (e.g., bookings, venues, vendor coordination, on‑the‑ground logistics).

  • Maintain and improve internal operational systems and processes (e.g., general administrative tracking) to increase efficiency as the program grows — distinct from the EOR's own HR systems and employment records.

  • Draft, organize, and maintain operational documentation and communications (e.g., vendor agreements, program files) needed for smooth day‑to‑day operations.

  • Serve as a point of coordination between consultants, partners, and cross‑cultural, cross‑functional teams.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential operational information (e.g., vendor contracts, program data) with discretion and professionalism.

  • Contribute to process improvements and best‑practice documentation as PxD's Indonesia operations mature.

  • Other duties as assigned by the COO and HR Operations management, in line with the evolving needs of the Indonesia program.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience, ideally in business administration, human resources, public administration, international development, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in operations or administrative roles, preferably supporting new entity setups, organizational expansions, or international operations.

  • Good working knowledge of administration, operations, and organizational effectiveness in an Indonesian context.

  • Familiarity with the Indonesian regulatory and employment landscape.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and relationships simultaneously.

  • Dynamic and self‑directed, with the ability to shift quickly between priorities and take initiative without needing extensive direction.

  • Strong communication skills — clear, professional, and effective, both verbally and in writing, with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

  • Comfortable using operations and project management tools.

  • Adaptable and resilient, comfortable in a fast‑paced, evolving environment, and willing to \"roll up sleeves\" across operational and administrative functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Proven ability to implement operational improvements, streamline processes, and champion best practices.

  • Working proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia.

  • Willingness to travel to field sites.

  • Right to live and work in Indonesia.
