Job summary

Saipem Indonesia is seeking a highly experienced Welding Inspector to perform offshore inspections on pipelay projects. You will verify welding parameters, review WPS/PQR, and witness tests to ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, ISO and DNV standards. Strong English and extensive offshore experience preferred.

Role requires on-site presence, including offshore or remote locations as needed, and delivers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive offshore allowances.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years as Welding Inspector in offshore/fabrication projects.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures and qualification requirements.
• Familiarity with welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO, DNV).
• CWI or equivalent certification (CSWIP, AWS CWI, IWI) valid and current.
• Excellent reading of WPS/PQR and inspection documents; good English.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding inspections on offshore pipelay vessels and yard sites.
• Verify welding parameters, consumables, and equipment calibration to WPS.
• Review WPS, PQR and welder qualifications for validity.
• Witness mechanical/destructive tests and related inspections.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specs.
• Conduct visual, line-up, fit-up inspections and material traceability checks.
• Review NDT reports and coordinate with NDT personnel.
• Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, and maintain records for As-Built docs.
• Liaise with production and client reps to resolve welding issues.
