Maison Iconia is an independent luxury interior architecture and design agency, based in Switzerland and Italy, operating internationally across hospitality, luxury residential, retail and commercial environments. As part of its international development, Maison Iconia is establishing a new presence in Bali, creating a strategic platform for the development and execution of projects across Indonesia and the wider Asian region.
The Bali branch will initially focus on three key areas:
The follow-up of a prestigious luxury villa currently under development in Bali;
Technical and creative support to Maison Iconia's Swiss headquarters for projects in Asia;
The development of a reliable network of local professionals, manufacturers and suppliers for swiss and international projects.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Interior Architect to join the founding team of Maison Iconia Bali.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the coordination and follow-up of a high-end private villa currently under development, ensuring that Maison Iconia's design vision, technical requirements and quality standards are consistently implemented throughout the execution phase.
In parallel, the candidate will provide technical and creative support to the Swiss headquarters, contributing to the development of international projects, from initial creative concepts and design development to technical documentation, production coordination and quality control.
The role also includes the identification and development of a strong local and regional network of consultants, contractors, craftsmen, millworkers and specialist manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and follow up the development and execution of a luxury private villa currently under construction/development in Bali.
Act as a local design and technical interface between Maison Iconia's offices, the client, local architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
Monitor the correct implementation of the interior architecture and design concept.
Review technical drawings, shop drawings, samples, material selections and prototypes.
Participate in regular site meetings and coordinate design-related issues with the relevant stakeholders.
Identify potential technical or execution issues and propose solutions in coordination with the Swiss design team.
Follow up bespoke architectural elements, joinery, millwork, furniture and decorative components.
Ensure that the expected level of quality, detailing and finishing is achieved throughout the project.
Technical & Creative Support to Maison Iconia Headquarters
Collaborate closely with Maison Iconia's offices on projects in pipeline.
Support the development of creative concepts and interior architecture proposals adapted to the Asian market and local context.
Produce and coordinate technical drawings, layouts, elevations, sections and detailed design documentation.
Develop technical solutions for bespoke interior architecture, furniture and millwork.
Adapt design concepts to local construction methods, materials and manufacturing capabilities.
Coordinate with Asian manufacturers and production partners during the development and production phases.
Review technical documentation and shop drawings prepared by external manufacturers.
Follow up production to ensure consistency with approved drawings, samples and design specifications.
Participate in factory visits and quality-control inspections at Asian millworkers and manufacturing plants.
Report regularly to the Swiss headquarter regarding production progress, technical issues, quality and required decisions.
Development of the Asian Professional & Manufacturing Network
Identify and establish relationships with high-quality local and regional professionals, including architects, engineers, specialist consultants and project managers.
Research and evaluate bespoke furniture manufacturers, millworkers, joinery specialists and other production partners.
Identify suppliers capable of delivering the quality standards required for luxury hospitality and residential projects.
Build a structured network of FF&E and OS&E suppliers across Bali, Indonesia and the wider Asian region.
Evaluate suppliers based on design quality, technical capabilities, reliability, production capacity, lead times and quality-control standards.
Develop relationships with local craftsmen and specialist workshops working with wood, stone, metal, textiles, ceramics and other high-quality materials.
Profile & Experience
Degree in Interior Architecture, Architecture or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in luxury residential, hospitality or high-end interior architecture.
Demonstrated experience following projects through design development, technical documentation and execution.
Strong technical knowledge of bespoke furniture, joinery and interior construction.
Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants and manufacturers.
Experience reviewing shop drawings and supervising production and installation.
Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and AI tools; proficiency in 3D software is an advantage.
Experience working with Asian manufacturers or on projects in Asia is highly desirable.
Knowledge of the Indonesian construction and manufacturing ecosystem is a strong advantage.
Fluent professional English; Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
