Job summary

Neusa Global is seeking a Senior GIS & Remote Sensing Manager to build and lead the geospatial function across Indonesia. The role focuses on land-cover classification, change detection, and data governance for peatland and forest projects.

You will mentor analysts, coordinate with field teams, and guide validation activities. You will work hands-on with Python and Google Earth Engine to scale geospatial processing, while coordinating with consultants and ensuring audit-ready outputs for carbon

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, remote sensing, geography, geomatics or related quantitative field.
• Minimum 7 years' professional experience in GIS and remote sensing, with senior or lead experience.
• Expert hands-on experience analysing optical and SAR imagery and producing land-cover/change products.
• Strong Python and Google Earth Engine skills for large-scale geospatial processing; proficiency in QGIS.
• Experience designing and maintaining spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) with SQL, metadata and data quality.
• Proven ability to develop repeatable workflows and QA processes for geospatial outputs.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior analysts; ability to communicate methods clearly in writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead acquisition, processing, and analysis of optical and SAR satellite imagery for land-cover classification and change detection.
• Produce defensible land-cover maps and multi-year change time series with accuracy assessments.
• Design and maintain spatial data estate (PostgreSQL/PostGIS, storage, metadata, governance).
• Develop reproducible geospatial workflows in Python and Google Earth Engine; automate recurring tasks.
• Maintain QGIS-based cartography and map products; enforce coding/documentation standards.
• Line-manage and mentor GIS analysts; ensure quality assurance for outputs.
• Coordinate with field teams and external consultants; manage deliverable timelines.
• Apply geospatial expertise to carbon projects, including baselines and project design components.
• Serve as geospatial point of contact during validation and verification.
