Qualifikationen

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or related discipline.
• Typically 12+ years of professional geotechnical field experience.
• Experience coordinating large geotechnical campaigns involving drilling contractors and laboratories.
• Knowledge of soil and rock drilling, borehole logging, sampling and lab testing.
• Experience coordinating multiple field work fronts and data flows.
• Experience with subcontractors, safety, quality and programme requirements.
• Strong field communication and professional English ability.
• Willingness to work in remote and logistically challenging sites.

Aufgaben

• Lead the planning, mobilisation and delivery of the geotechnical field investigation programme.
• Develop practical investigation sequencing, field resourcing and mobilisation plans in coordination with the project geotechnical team and project schedule.
• Coordinate drilling contractors, field teams and other investigation service providers across available work fronts.
• Oversee soil and rock drilling, borehole logging and sampling, test pits, in-situ testing and associated field investigation activities.
• Coordinate laboratory testing priorities and maintain alignment between field observations, samples, test results and engineering data needs.
• Coordinate survey and setting-out requirements for investigation locations and maintain clear traceability of field records and investigation data.
• Monitor investigation quality and work with the field team to ensure records, samples, testing and factual information are suitable for engineering use.
• Provide the main day-to-day coordination point between investigation contractors, the project geotechnical team and relevant project stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, constraints and forecast completion, and adjust field sequencing or resources where practical to support design priorities.
• Identify access, mobilisation, ground-condition, productivity, safety and programme issues early and coordinate practical responses with the appropriate project teams.
• Coordinate working areas, access preparation and reinstatement requirements associated with investigation activities.
• Escalate unexpected ground conditions or material field observations promptly so that the geotechnical design team can consider their design implications.
• Coordinate timely issue of field records, laboratory results, factual reporting and investigation summaries.
• Promote a strong field safety culture and support compliance with applicable project procedures, risk assessments and field-work requirements.
