Job summary

Adaro Mining is seeking a seasoned Geotechnical Engineer to plan, analyse, and review geotechnical and hydrogeological designs for open-pit mining projects. You will collect and validate field and laboratory data and develop models to support mine planning and infrastructure design.

You will review contractor recommendations, provide technical guidance to the engineering teams, and prepare clear reports summarizing results, assumptions, analyses, and conclusions. Site visits are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in geological/mining/civil engineering or related field
• Minimum 7 years of professional mining geotechnical experience
• Proficient in geotechnical software RS2, Slide2, Visual MODFLOW Flex
• Willing to conduct site visits as required

Job description

Plan, analyse, and review geotechnical and hydrogeological designs in accordance with project requirements and applicable technical standards

Collect primary engineering geology and hydrogeology data and validate relevant field and laboratory test results to ensure data quality and fitness for use

Perform soil and rock characterization and engineering analyses based on available investigation and testing data

Develop engineering geological and hydrogeological models to support mine planning, infrastructure design, and technical decision-making

Develop fit-for-purpose technical solutions for field conditions, including foundations, slope stability, ground improvement, and other geotechnical or hydrogeological issues

Review technical recommendations prepared by contractors and consultants, and provide technical advice to the Engineering & Construction and Mine Strategic Planning teams

Prepare clear technical reports and recommendations documenting the results, assumptions, analyses, and conclusions of geotechnical and hydrogeological work

Job requirements

Minimum Bachelor Degree (S1) in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field

Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Mining Geotechnical Engineering

Minimum Intermediate (Madya) level Geotechnical Certification applicable to the mining or construction sector

Proficient in using geotechnical and hydrogeological software, including RS2, Slide2, Visual MODFLOW Flex, and other relevant geotechnical/hydrogeological software

Willing to conduct site visits as required
