Job summary

PT ADARO JASABARA INDONESIA seeks an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to plan, analyse, and review geotechnical and hydrogeological designs for mining projects in Indonesia. The role requires data collection and validation of field and laboratory results to ensure data quality and fitness for use.

You will develop engineering geological models to support mine planning, infrastructure design, and decision-making, and prepare clear technical reports documenting analyses and conclusions.

Job description

• Plan, analyse, and review geotechnical and hydrogeological designs in accordance with project requirements and applicable technical standards.
• Collect primary engineering geology and hydrogeology data and validate relevant field and laboratory test results to ensure data quality and fitness for use.
• Perform soil and rock characterization and engineering analyses based on available investigation and testing data.
• Develop engineering geological and hydrogeological models to support mine planning, infrastructure design, and technical decision-making.
• Develop fit-for-purpose technical solutions for field conditions, including foundations, slope stability, ground improvement, and other geotechnical or hydrogeological issues.
• Review technical recommendations prepared by contractors and consultants, and provide technical advice to the Engineering & Construction and Mine Strategic Planning teams for implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of field activities.
• Prepare clear technical reports and recommendations documenting the results, assumptions, analyses, and conclusions of geotechnical and hydrogeological work.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree (S1) in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Mining Geotechnical Engineering, experience in hydrogeology is highly preferred
• Minimum Intermediate (Madya) level Geotechnical Certification applicable to the mining or construction sector.
• Professional Engineer (Insinyur Profesional) certification is preferred.
• Proficient in using geotechnical and hydrogeological software, including RS2, Slide2, Visual MODFLOW Flex, and other relevant geotechnical/hydrogeological software.
• Willing to conduct site visits as required.
