Qualifications

• Fluency in English (verbal and written) and solid computing skills

Perform and supervise Underground Mine hydrology activities to ensure all the data and report requirements are collected in timely and quality manner to support the department's objective.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

• Perform and supervise hydrology daily monitoring at Surface and Underground Mine area and ensure all date requirements are collected on a regular basis.
• Analyze QA/QC regarding hydrology data and ensure updating all data collected into database in timely manner and quality consideration.
• Supervise hydrology activities and programs in Surface and Underground Mine such as Piezometer drilling and installation to ensure all the activities and programs are well running and meet the minimum target/requirement.
• Provide support to superiors in development and improvement of any programs to enhance the level of expertise and expectation, including perform hydrogeology investigation program.
• Coordinate and maintain relationships with all concerned parties within PTFI regarding Hydrology activities and programs to smooth the work process in achieving target.
• Gather and perform reporting paperwork regarding all data related such as RKL/RPL report in quarter and annual basis, Wetmuck report in quarterly and others hydrology reporting for further action and decision by superior.
• Supervise and control the budget usage in Hydrology activities and programs to ensure the actual are within budget.
• Ensure and supervise all hydrology monitoring equipment to be calibrated and ready to be used all the time.
• Direct and communicate company's safety and environmental policies to ensure subordinates perform their duties accurately, effectively and efficiently in a safe and good condition manner.
• Provide technical and management guidance for subordinates through training and development, ongoing coaching to prepare for the sustainable employee development to the expanding organization.
• Monitor and review subordinate's performance and assist them during their activities to minimize possibilities of re-work and to ensure compliance with time and quality standards required by the client and the company.
• Bachelor's degree (S1) in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, or Civil Engineering with strong relevance to underground mining with at least two years of experience in hydrogeology, particularly within the mining industry.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in mining, geotechnical, or hydrology-related roles. Experience or exposure (academic or practical) to:
  • Field data collection (manual or instrument-based)
  • Underground inspection activities
  • Basic data processing, QA/QC, and reporting
  • Experience with database systems, spreadsheets, or monitoring tools (e.g. Excel, internal databases, or basic dashboards) is an advantage.
  • Field-based experience in underground operations (internship, site rotation, or contractor exposure) is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge and technical skills, professional character, and fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• The candidate is expected to have good computer literacy, including proficiency in Vulcan, Minesight, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Leadership capability, project management skills, and strong analytical thinking are essential.
• A high level of motivation, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively within a team are also required.
• Basic understanding of underground mine water systems, including:
  • Dewatering
  • Drainage
  • Groundwater–rock mass interaction
  • Familiarity with hydrology monitoring concepts (flow, water level, rainfall, piezometric response) is required.
  • Training or exposure to HSE, mining safety standards, and environmental compliance is mandatory.
