Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, seeks a Field Service Engineer for Balikpapan to support aftermarket services, site surveys, and on-site technical support in Indonesia. You will maintain service facilities, update SAP/PRISM/LeanKit, perform inspections, and lead onsite projects.

Role requires 5+ years in mechanical/rotating industries, knowledge of mechanical seals, and strong RCA skills; English communication is essential. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in a similar capacity.
• Experience in mechanical/rotating industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Sound knowledge of rotating and process equipment, knowledge of mechanical seals.
• Vibration Analysis CAT-1 (advantage).
• Project Management Skill.
• Root Cause Analysis Skill.
• Ability to effectively communicate both written and spoken in English.

Responsibilities

• Represent organization in Balikpapan area, supporting aftermarket services, site survey, and on-site support.
• Adhere to Smiths and John Crane policies and values.
• Update ERP applications (SAP, PRISM, LeanKit) during job progress.
• Receive and identify incoming/outgoing products and document in logs.
• Perform refurbishment, stripping, testing, and packing of products per SOPs.
• Lead onsite projects (LTSA) in planning and execution, inventory review, and RCA collaboration.
• Prepare RCA reports with JC engineering and quality teams.
• Ensure all technical documents and reports are submitted to customers on time.
