Fortress Mining Sdn Bhd is seeking a senior geologist to lead mineral exploration programs in Timor-Leste with emphasis on field exploration and interpretation. Strong manganese experience is highly preferred, with gold exploration exposure considered an advantage in the search for metallic minerals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Geology and a minimum of 10 years in mineral exploration, including leadership of exploration teams and comprehensive reporting.

Qualifikationen

• Gold exploration experience, especially orogenic systems, is advantageous.

• Experience in Timor-Leste or comparable remote environments is a bonus.
• 3D geological modelling and mineral resource estimation is advantageous.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS, Micromine, Leapfrog Geo, Oasis Montaj and ioGAS is beneficial.

Aufgaben

• Plan, lead and execute regional and detailed mineral exploration programs from target generation through drilling and evaluation.
• Lead geological mapping, geochemical sampling, drilling supervision, core logging and mineralisation interpretation.
• Develop exploration strategies, work programs, schedules and field priorities in line with project objectives.
• Supervise geologists, field crews and exploration manpower, ensuring effective allocation of work and field discipline.
• Review and validate geological, geochemical and drilling data and integrate results into geological interpretations and exploration targets.
• Develop and interpret geological models and, where applicable, contribute to 3D geological modelling and mineral resource estimation.
• Prepare and review technical reports, maps, sections, presentations and exploration recommendations for management.
• Coordinate field logistics and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in remote project environments.
• Promote compliance with company HSE requirements and sound exploration field practices.

Lead and provide technical direction for mineral exploration activities in Timor-Leste, with emphasis on field-based exploration, geological interpretation and delivery of high-quality exploration programs. Strong manganese exploration experience is highly preferred; experience in gold, particularly orogenic gold systems, and other metallic minerals is advantageous.

Key responsibilities

About you

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geoscience or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of relevant mineral exploration experience.

Strong manganese exploration experience is highly preferred.

Experience in gold exploration, particularly orogenic gold systems, is an advantage; exposure to tin, copper or other metallic minerals is also beneficial.

Strong technical experience in geological mapping, geochemistry, drilling, core logging and mineralisation interpretation.

Proven experience leading exploration programs and supervising geological teams and field crews.

Strong technical reporting, project planning and leadership capability.

Experience in Timor-Leste or comparable remote exploration environments is an advantage.

Experience in 3D geological modelling and mineral resource estimation is highly advantageous.

Proficiency in relevant geological and exploration software is an advantage, including ArcGIS, Micromine, Leapfrog Geo, Oasis Montaj and ioGAS.
