Job summary

Thiess Indonesia Capability Hub is seeking a Senior Engineer Environment for a 12-month contract to lead environmental management initiatives. You will coordinate the EMS across regions, support environmental strategies, and develop training while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective reporting.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in environmental fields and at least 5 years of site-based experience, with strong communication skills and knowledge of ISO 14001.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering/Science or Management.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant site-based environmental experience.
• Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 EMS.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver environmental training.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Solid knowledge of environmental legislation and reporting.
• Ability to analyze data and report findings clearly.
• Understanding current and emerging environmental issues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EMS maintenance and revision across Thiess.
• Support regional environmental initiatives and consultants as required.
• Ensure consistent EMS application across regions.
• Develop training modules and awareness campaigns.
• Assist in environmental reporting to leadership, shareholders and committees as required.
• Identify and escalate areas of unacceptable exposure or risk.
