Job summary

BMT Asia Indonesia is seeking an EMT Manager to lead environmental field sampling and monitoring projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery for mining, oil & gas, and industrial sectors. You will manage planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

You will supervise field engineers, review equipment calibration, and coordinate with Marketing/Business Development for pre-bid activities. Strong leadership and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental fields including Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in environmental management.
• Relevant certifications such as ATPA, KTPA, PPPA or PPPU preferred.
• Strong understanding of environmental sampling, monitoring, and reporting processes.
• Familiar with Indonesian environmental regulations and HSE standards.
• Proven experience in budgeting, manpower planning, and resource allocation.
• Experience in proposal preparation and client coordination.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Fluent in English.

• Coordinate pre-bid meetings, technical clarifications, and kick-off meetings with Marketing/Business Development teams.

• Manage field engineers and ensure high-quality sampling, reporting, and project execution.
• Ensure compliance with SOP, health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Prepare monthly budgets, revenue reports, KPI monitoring, and management reports.
• Oversee client billing and invoicing processes for accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, and operational forms.
• Lead team development including training and succession planning.
• Represent management in meetings with clients, government agencies, vendors.

Job description

The EMT Manager is responsible for leading and managing environmental field sampling & monitoring operations, project execution, technical quality, business support, and team development for environmental consulting projects, particularly in mining, oil & gas, and industrial sectors. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage environmental field sampling & monitoring projects from planning to completion.

Prepare technical proposals, cost estimations (RAB), project budgeting, and resource planning.

Coordinate and attend pre-bid meetings, technical clarifications, and kick-off meetings with Marketing/Business Development teams.

Support business development activities, client acquisition, and market expansion initiatives.

Manage field engineers and ensure high-quality sampling, reporting, and project execution in accordance with SOP and regulatory requirements.

Conduct final review of equipment calibration, sampling materials, and project readiness.

Oversee and approve EMT manpower planning, personnel deployment, travel & accommodation arrangements, operational requests, project documentation, and expense-related submissions to ensure effective project execution and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with HSE standards, environmental regulations, and quality control procedures.

Prepare monthly budgets, revenue reports, KPI monitoring, and management reports.

Oversee and approve client billing and invoicing processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission in accordance with project and contractual requirements.

Develop and evaluate SOPs, work instructions, and operational forms.

Lead team development initiatives including training, career development, coaching, and succession planning.

Represent management in meetings with clients, government agencies, vendors, and other external stakeholders.

Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement best practices in field operations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in environmental management, preferably in environmental consulting, mining, oil & gas, or multinational projects.

Relevant certifications such as ATPA, KTPA, PPPA or PPPU are preferred.

Strong understanding of environmental sampling, monitoring, and reporting processes.

Familiar with Indonesian environmental regulations and HSE standards, especially in the oil & gas industry.

Proven experience in project management, budgeting, manpower planning, and resource allocation.

Experience in proposal preparation, technical review, and client coordination.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.

Able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting/documentation systems.
