Job summary

BukuWarung is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Jakarta to design and build scalable backend services powering payments, lending, and merchant products. You will emit clean events to the unified data platform and support real-time decisioning for fraud and analytics.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years of backend production experience, strong skills in at least one backend language, REST/gRPC APIs, and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, security, and scalable data modeling.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of backend production experience.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, Python, or Node.js).
• Designing RESTful and/or gRPC APIs and microservices.
• Strong relational database and SQL skills.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and caching (Redis).
• Experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Solid system design, testing, and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend microservices and APIs powering BukuWarung’s payments, credit, and merchant-facing products.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in design and code reviews.
• Model data and design schemas for transactional stores and caching/queuing layers.
• Build integrations with payment channels, lending flows, and third-party APIs.
