Job summary

PaxOcean in Batam, Indonesia seeks a Senior Executive, Commercial (Lead Estimator) to guide the estimating function for ship repair projects. You will prepare accurate cost estimates, manage risks, and mentor the estimation team to ensure competitive tenders and profitable outcomes.

The role requires leading tender submissions, coordinating with engineering, planning and procurement, and optimizing Commercial strategy across complex vessel repairs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Engineering Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
• 8-10 years of experience in Shipyard or Fabrication Yard.
• Proven experience leading estimation teams and managing complex tenders.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and commercial/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the estimating team for cost estimates and tenders for ship repair projects including dry docking and emergency repairs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, subcontracting, equipment and services.
• Prepare complete commercial proposals, bid summaries, and pricing schedules.
• Identify and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers; prepare bid comparison analyses.
• Prepare estimates for additional works and scope changes; support invoicing and final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and margin impacts; support forecasting of costs and profitability.
• Prepare estimation reports, cost breakdowns, and tender evaluation summaries.
