Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Typically 10+ years of bridge or major civil-structure design experience.
• Experience with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and structural steel bridge design.
• Experience preparing coordinated, construction-ready drawings, calculations, specs, and reports.
• Experience developing bridge models and designing superstructures, substructures, foundations, bearings and joints.
• Experience coordinating bridge approaches and foundations with geotechnical, civil, drainage and road requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support development of bridge models and structural design deliverables.
• Prepare technical documentation and coordinated engineering solutions across superstructure, substructure and foundation packages.
• Contribute to design reviews, site visits and technical queries.

Required Education:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Required Experience:

• Typically 10 or more years of relevant bridge or major civil-structure design experience
• Experience with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and structural steel bridge design
• Experience preparing coordinated, construction-ready calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
• Experience developing bridge models and designing superstructures, substructures, foundations, bearings, joints and associated elements
• Experience coordinating bridge approaches and foundations with geotechnical, civil, drainage and road requirements
• Experience participating in design reviews, site visits, technical queries and checking activities

Required Skills:

• Ability to apply relevant vehicle, dead, dynamic, braking, wind, seismic, hydraulic, scour, debris and construction loads in bridge design
• Ability to prepare technical notes, reports, specifications, drawings, material take-offs and quantity inputs
• Ability to develop and recommend bridge alternatives, culvert options, span optimisation, staging, erection and temporary-access solutions
• Ability to develop concrete, reinforcement, steel, piling, foundation and scour-protection details
• Strong interface management through coordinated models, drawings and review registers
• Good professional English communication and problem-solving skills
