Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Principal Bridge Structures Engineer for a 12-month assignment in Jakarta. You will lead bridge design, technical assurance and multidisciplinary coordination across complex infrastructure projects in energy, chemicals and resources sectors.

You will contribute to bridge analysis, seismic design, foundations, durability and constructability, coordinating with specialist teams and clients to deliver safe, economical and constructible solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Early availability and leadership in bridge projects preferred.
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.

Job description

Job Title: Principal Bridge Structures Engineer

Duration: 12 months

This opportunity is based in Jakarta within a global professional services company delivering integrated consulting, engineering, procurement and project delivery solutions across the energy, chemicals and resources sectors. The role offers scope to lead bridge engineering design, technical assurance and multidisciplinary coordination across complex infrastructure work. This position will contribute to bridge analysis, seismic design, foundations, durability and constructability in a technically demanding environment.

Required Education:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Required Experience:

• Typically 15 or more years of bridge engineering experience
• Experience in a discipline lead, technical authority or principal level capacity
• Strong experience in bridge analysis, substructures, foundations, durability and constructability
• Experience reviewing bridge and culvert alternatives for safety, performance, cost, schedule and constructability
• Experience coordinating bridge foundations with site-specific geotechnical conditions and working with water-resources specialists on waterway openings, scour protection and river interfaces

Required Skills:

• Ability to guide bridge design basis, criteria, loading assumptions, durability requirements and assurance approach
• Ability to lead the development and optimisation of bridge forms, spans, superstructures, substructures, foundations, approaches and crossing locations
• Technical knowledge of vehicle, dead, dynamic, braking, wind, seismic, hydraulic, debris, scour and construction loading
• Capability to provide technical assurance for calculations, models, drawings, specifications, quantities and staged submissions
• Clear technical writing, checking and professional English communication
• Ability to mentor structural engineering teams

Required Certifications:

• Professional registration or chartered structural engineer status, or eligibility to obtain it

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant postgraduate qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
