Job summary

Mekari, Indonesia's leading SaaS company, seeks a seasoned Backend Engineer to build server-side logic, connect with external services, and develop plugins for our Ruby and Go framework. You will shape system architecture, write tests, and help scale data processing while collaborating with a global engineering team where English is required.

You will work on API services, microservices, and caching strategies, with emphasis on problem solving, learning, and delivering robust software.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience in complex systems.
• Proficiency in Golang; Ruby on Rails experience is a plus, willingness to learn Rails.
• Strong knowledge of API design, microservices, and caching solutions.
• Experience with TDD and versioning tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).
• Humble, hungry engineer; strong problem-solving and collaboration; English communication required.

Responsibilities

• Write server-side application logic and develop back-end components.
• Integrate with external services and support front-end collaboration.
• Develop and integrate plugins for Mekari frameworks (Ruby & Go).
• Scale software products and data processing capabilities.
• Contribute to system architecture and design; write tests (unit/integration).
• Build features and API services; solve technical problems; continuously improve.
