Qualifications

• You have at least 8 years of backend engineering experience and built/operated large-scale systems.
• You can decompose ambiguous problems into clean service architectures and APIs.
• You own system-wide decisions on latency, cost, and consistency.
• You mentor junior to mid-level engineers and drive better engineering judgment.
• You collaborate with Product to map dependencies and define integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship multi-service systems, balancing consistency, latency, and cost.
• Decompose problems into service architectures and API contracts.
• Set technical standards through review and shape downstream APIs.
• Mentor engineers through review and pairing to grow their judgment.
• Act as on-call authority and prevent incidents with durable design.
• Influence the roadmap with technical proposals for the wider team.
• Direct how AI tools are used in the team's workflow.
