Job summary

Protemus Capital in Jakarta Barat is seeking a Senior Associate to join the M&A Advisory team. You will own key transaction workstreams and collaborate with management, clients, and external advisers through the deal lifecycle.

The role emphasizes building and reviewing financial models, performing valuations, and guiding deal processes from due diligence to closing. On-site position with opportunities to develop in a boutique advisory setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance advisory, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in buy‑side/sell‑side, valuation, or other corporate finance transactions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with client-facing deliverables.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, accounting and analytical skills.
• Willing to work fully on-site in Jakarta Barat.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute key workstreams across end-to-end M&A and fundraising transactions.
• Build and review financial models, projections, and valuations (DCF, comps, precedent).
• Conduct financial analysis, diagnostics, and market research.
• Prepare investment teasers, information memoranda, and pitch decks.
• Coordinate with clients, investors, legal advisers, and accountants.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations with clear communication.
• Manage timelines, deliverables, and multiple workstreams for timely execution.
• Guide and mentor interns and analysts, supporting their development.
• Support business development with proposals and sector analyses.

Protemus Capital is a boutique M&A advisory firm in Jakarta, working with founders, shareholders, and investors across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. We advise on both sides of the deal — sell‑side when it's time to exit or raise, buy‑side when it's time to acquire — with particular depth in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Associate to join our M&A Advisory team. The successful candidate will take ownership of key transaction workstreams and work closely with senior management, clients, junior team members, and external advisers throughout the deal process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and execute key workstreams across end-to-end M&A and fundraising transactions, including deal preparation, due diligence, valuation, negotiation support, and closing.
• Build and review financial models, projections, and valuations using methods such as DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transactions.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, business diagnostics, and company, industry, and market research.
• Prepare and review transaction materials, including investment teasers, information memoranda, and pitch decks.
• Coordinate transaction processes with clients, potential investors or buyers, legal advisers, accountants, and other relevant parties.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations while ensuring clear communication and effective stakeholder management.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, internal documentation, and multiple workstreams to ensure timely and high-quality execution.
• Guide and mentor interns and analysts for reviewing their work and supporting their professional development.
• Support business development initiatives by preparing proposals, sector analyses, target lists, and presentation materials.
• Stay informed about relevant industry developments, capital markets, and regulations affecting M&A transactions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in investment banking, corporate finance advisory, transaction services, or equity/investment research.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field from a reputable local university with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (out of 4.00).
• Demonstrated experience in buy‑side/sell‑side, valuation, or other corporate finance transactions.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, accounting, and analytical skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point, with the ability to prepare professional client‑facing deliverables.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, initiative, and problem‑solving ability.
• Professional qualifications or certifications such as CFA, CA, CPA, FMVA, or an MBA will be considered an advantage.
• Willing to work fully on‑site in Jakarta Barat.
