Job summary

ASTRO is Indonesia's first on-demand platform delivering groceries within minutes, operating 24/7. This role focuses on building and optimizing high-performance Android applications, collaborating with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering to deliver new features, fast startup, and smooth UI transitions.

You will own profiling, debugging, and AI-assisted workflows to boost efficiency and production readiness.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–4 years of experience in software engineering with native Android development.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack libraries and modern practices.
Solid experience with Jetpack Compose and/or Android View system.
Experience with performance profiling and debugging tools listed above.
Practical experience using AI-powered development tools for coding and debugging.

Responsibilities

Lead development, optimization, and maintenance of Android apps with high performance and code quality.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks in startup time, CPU usage, memory and rendering.
Implement smooth UI transitions, animations, gestures, and micro-interactions.
Profile rendering performance, scrolling, frame time and main-thread execution.
Collaborate with Product/Design to translate UI requirements into high-performance experiences.
Set benchmarks, monitor production metrics, and improve responsiveness and efficiency.
