Job summary

Astro Technologies Indonesia mencari Senior Backend Engineer untuk memimpin peningkatan layanan backend yang skalabel guna mendukung cross-platform. Anda akan bekerja sama dengan tim Product dan Engineering untuk menghadirkan fitur baru, mengoptimalkan fitur pencarian dan performa sistem, serta menjaga komunikasi layanan melalui RPC dan messaging.

Anda juga meneliti praktik terbaik rekayasa untuk memastikan stabilitas dan efisiensi sistem.

Qualifications

• Minimal 6 tahun pengalaman sebagai Software Engineer dengan backend.
• Minimal 3 tahun pengalaman menggunakan Elasticsearch untuk membangun dan mengelola layanan backend.
• Pengalaman Redis, RPC, dan layanan antrian seperti Kafka atau sejenisnya.
• Penguasaan SQL dan NoSQL serta perancangan model data yang efisien.
• Pengalaman desain sistem yang skalabel, handal, dan toleran terhadap kegagalan.
• Pemantauan menggunakan Grafana/Datadog serta praktik SDLC.
• Kemampuan benchmarking performa dan optimasi sistem.
• Pola pikir proaktif, ingin belajar teknologi baru, dan meningkatkan praktik engineering.

Responsibilities

• Bekerja dengan pemangku kepentingan dan manajer produk untuk menetapkan tujuan proyek.
• Membimbing dan mengembangkan insinyur, melakukan code review, serta menerapkan praktik terbaik.
• Mengubah persyaratan produk menjadi solusi teknis dan tugas pengembangan yang jelas.
• Memecah masalah rekayasa menjadi komponen yang dapat dikelola dan memperkirakan upaya.
• Mengawasi penyampaian fitur backend bersama tim Produk agar tepat waktu dan berkualitas.
• Mengambil alih siklus hidup produk dari pengembangan hingga produksi dan perbaikan berkelanjutan.
• Menjelajahi penggunaan alat AI untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pengembangan.

About this Position

This role focuses on leading a scalable backend services improvement to support our cross platform. You will collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to lead the delivery of new features, optimize search fitur and system performance, and maintain reliable service communication through RPC and messaging systems. You will also research engineering best practices to ensure system stability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with stakeholders and product managers to define project goals and priorities.
• Mentoring and developing the engineers, performing code reviews, and enforcing best practices.
• Translate product requirements into clear technical solutions and actionable development tasks for your team.
• Break down complex engineering problems into manageable components and estimate development efforts accurately.
• Oversee backend features delivery in collaboration with the Product team, ensuring timely and high-quality implementation.
• Take ownership of the full product lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment to production, and continuous improvements or fixes.
• Explore and leverage AI tools or technologies to improve development efficiency and support practical implementation in daily engineering workflows.

KUALIFIKASI MINIMUM

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Software Engineer, with strong exposure to backend system development.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience using Elastic search until now to build and maintain backend services or distributed systems.
• Solid experience working with Redis for caching, RPC or service-to-service communication, and message queue systems such as Kafka or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of database technologies, including both SQL and NoSQL, with the ability to design efficient data models and optimize queries.
• Experience in system design, including building scalable, reliable, and fault‑tolerant systems.
• Familiar with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Datadog to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, including testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ability to perform performance benchmarking, monitoring, and system optimization to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
• Possesses a curious and proactive mindset, continuously seeking feedback, learning new technologies, and exploring broader perspectives to improve engineering practices.
