Job summary

WRI Indonesia is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead multilingual translation and AI-assisted document generation for the NbS Tool. This hybrid role is based in Jakarta with 8 in-office days per month and requires work authorization in Indonesia.

You will evaluate models (SeaLLM, SEA-LION) and design scalable AI pipelines, focusing on Indonesian and one additional Southeast Asian language. Collaboration with product and backend teams is essential for production-ready components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/AI/DS/SE or related field.
• 5+ years in AI/ML/NLP or software engineering with hands-on AI applications.
• Proficient in Python and with LLMs, Generative AI, and RAG-based apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI design and development for multilingual translation, RAG, and source-grounded content within NbS Tool.
• Evaluate models (SeaLLM, SEA-LION) and recommend approaches by quality, cost, feasibility.
• Develop multilingual translation with Indonesian focus and one additional SE Asian language using RAG.
• Improve RAG retrieval quality, source grounding, citation traceability, and robustness.
• Provide AI components and guidance for integration with the NbS Tool feasibility-report workflow.
• Prepare technical documentation of architecture, configs, evaluation results, and maintenance.
