Job summary

World Resources Institute Indonesia is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead multilingual translation and AI-assisted document generation within the NbS Tool. The role emphasizes source-grounded content with LLMs and RAG, requiring collaboration with Product and Backend teams for production readiness.

The position operates in a hybrid model with 8 days per month in the Jakarta office and requires legal eligibility to work in Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in AI/ML, NLP, or software engineering with hands-on AI-enabled apps.
• Strong Python skills and experience with LLMs, Generative AI, and RAG.
• Experience designing, evaluating, and optimizing AI pipelines including retrieval and grounding.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and development of AI for multilingual translation and content generation in NbS Tool.
• Evaluate AI models (SeaLLM, SEA-LION, etc.) and recommended approaches on quality and cost.
• Develop multilingual translation and RAG-based content generation for SE Asia languages; Indonesian focus.
• Improve RAG retrieval quality, source grounding, citation traceability, and reliability.
• Design repeatable evaluation processes using metrics and human assessment.
• Provide technical guidance to Backend Engineers and support integration and deployment.
• Prepare technical docs covering architecture, configurations, evaluation results, and limitations.
