Job summary

Sekolah Victory Plus seeks a Secondary School English Teacher (Language Acquisition) to deliver inquiry-based, concept-driven lessons within the MYP and DP frameworks. You will design curriculum, assessments, and interdisciplinary links while supporting students' academic and personal development in an international learning community.

The role requires native-level English proficiency or IELTS 8.5+, strong understanding of IB frameworks, and a collaborative approach to professional growth.

Qualifications

• Native English speaker or IELTS score of 8.5 or higher.
• Strong knowledge of MYP and DP frameworks, with experience teaching Language Acquisition or Language and Literature.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to adapt to an international curriculum environment.
• Deep understanding of how students learn, with the ability to motivate and challenge learners at varying levels.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in alignment with the MYP and DP frameworks, fostering inquiry-based, concept-driven learning.
• Inspire mixed-culture and ability classes through differentiated instruction, innovative teaching strategies, and interdisciplinary links.
• Design, develop, implement, and review the curriculum and assessments for both MYP and DP English, including formative and summative assessments.
• Utilize the principles of Understanding by Design and Assessment for Learning to create meaningful and effective learning experiences.
• Implement and support IB policies and strategic plans within the subject area.
• Encourage student voice, agency, and responsibility for their own learning and behavior.
• Provide pastoral care aligned with SVP's Behaviour Management Policy to support students' academic and personal development.
• Work collaboratively with coordinators, curriculum leaders, and colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning and ensure the effective delivery of the English curriculum.
• Integrate technology effectively to enhance learning, including the use of the school's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
• Organize and participate in subject-related programs, events, and competitions.
