• Collaborate with PYP Coordinator and colleagues to design meaningful experiences aligned with PYP standards.
• Maintain lesson plans and curriculum maps aligned with IB requirements.

The PYP Early Years Homeroom Teacher is instrumental in nurturing young learners who are confident, reflective, and capable of thriving in a dynamic and inclusive learning community. Through inquiry, play, and a commitment to international-mindedness, this role supports the holistic development of each child, preparing them for lifelong learning and global citizenship.

Key responsibilities

Foster an inquiry-based and concept-driven approach to learning, engaging students in meaningful exploration and discovery.

Implement play-based learning methodologies inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, focusing on creativity, collaboration, and hands-on exploration.

Provide differentiated instruction to meet individual learning needs and maximize student potential.

Actively integrate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills into daily lessons, helping students develop transferable skills and a love for learning.

Utilize Seesaw to document, assess, and communicate student learning and progress effectively.

Design and apply varied assessment strategies, including formative and summative approaches, to reflect and support student growth.

Integrate the Outdoor Learning Centre, gardens, mini farm, and other areas outside the classroom as integral, daily components of instruction to foster creativity, enhance problem-solving skills, and support students' overall well-being.

Ensure student safety and well-being, creating an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where students feel confident to take risks and embrace challenges.

Collaborate with the PYP Coordinator and colleagues to design purposeful and meaningful learning experiences aligned with the PYP framework and standards.

Maintain detailed lesson plans, long‑term curriculum maps, and assessment documentation that align with IB requirements.

About you

A minimum of Bachelor's degree from a related field.

Fluent in English, with the ability to deliver lessons and communicate effectively in English.

A genuine passion for early childhood education, with a commitment to fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.

A strong understanding of child development and the principles of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and the PYP framework.

Enthusiasm for outdoor learning and the ability to connect natural environments to the curriculum.

Skilled in collaboration and open communication with colleagues, students, and families.
