Job summary

OPT Machine Vision in Jakarta is seeking a proactive technical sales assistant to identify new customers including system integrators, distributors, machine builders and end users. You will support the sales cycle from lead generation to quotations, coordinating with engineering and marketing teams to showcase relevant solutions.

Ideal candidates have a STEM background, fluent English (Mandarin a plus), and a genuine interest in vision technology or industrial automation.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Mandarin proficiency is a plus but not required
• Strong interest in technical sales within vision technology or industrial automation
• Team-oriented, self-motivated, eager to learn
• Experience in sales, engineering, or customer-facing roles is advantageous but not mandatory

• Assist in building a sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and industry engagement activities
• Participate in commercial discussions, product demonstrations, and customer presentations
• Help manage stages of the sales cycle from lead generation to quotation support and order processing
• Collaborate with sales support, marketing, and technical teams to prepare customer-focused proposals
• Maintain relationships with existing accounts to foster repeat business and upsell opportunities
• Provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline progress, and market insights to management

• Help manage stages of the sales cycle, from lead generation to quotation support and order processing.
• Collaborate with internal teams in sales support, marketing, and technical departments to prepare customer-focused proposals.
• Maintain relationships with existing accounts to foster repeat business and identify upselling opportunities.
• Provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline progress, and market insights to management.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Open to all majors; preference for candidates with degrees in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation, AI, Robotics, or related STEM fields.
• Language Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus but not required.
• Career Interest: Strong interest in building a career in technical sales within the vision technology or industrial automation sector.
• Personal Attributes: Team-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn. Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
• Experience: Prior internship or project experience in sales, engineering, or customer-facing roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
