Job summary

Samudera Indonesia is seeking a logistics/ship operations coordinator to supervise daily ship operations and ensure compliance with industry regulations. You will manage communications with the Ship’s Master and customers, monitor movements, and analyze data to drive efficiency.

The role requires an engineering or transportation/logistics background, English proficiency, and readiness to be stationed in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

Qualifications

• Min. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistic, or a related field.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Shipping-related experience would be beneficial.
• Able to work effectively in a team or independently.
• Willing to be placed in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day to day operational activities related to ship operation.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and regulations for safe ship operation.
• Manage primary communications with the Ship’s Master and customers.
• Monitor ship movements and cargo transfer operations.
• Analyze ships operational data to improve efficiency and support data-driven decisions.
• Implement an Integrated Management System and document risk controls.
• Ensure team engagement with IMS requirements and procedures.
• Participate in investigations of accidents or unsafe actions, providing factual reports.
• Support information security controls to protect company assets and data.

Main Responsibilities

2. Ensure compliance with organization procedures and industry regulations to ensure the safe operation of ships.
3. Manage primary communications link with the Ship’s Master also manage relation with customers.
4. Monitor the ship movements and cargo transfer operations.
5. Analyze ships operational data to improve efficiency, evaluate performance, and make data-driven decisions.

General Responsibilities

1. Ensure the implementation of an Integrated Management System, including the identification, documentation, and control of risks in the relevant department’s work area.
2. Foster and ensure the commitment of every team member to understand and adhere to all applicable Integrated Management System requirements.
3. Be willing to participate in the investigation process of accidents, incidents, or actions that may lead to incidents caused by unsafe actions or unsafe conditions, including providing accurate information and reports based on known facts.
4. Be willing to engage in the information security control process applied to protect the information assets and information processing assets owned and/or managed by the Company from threats to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Requirements

1. Min. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistic, or a related field.
2. Able to have professional conversation in English (both written and spoken).
3. Prior experience/knowledge related to shipping or shipping agency business would be beneficial.
4. Able to work effectively in a team or as a single contributor.
5. Willing to be placed in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
