Job summary

PT Indo Kreasi Grafika in Batam seeks a Mechanical Technician (Gravure) to maintain and repair gravure printing machines and related systems to maximize uptime.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma or technical certificate in printing technology or mechanical engineering, has 3–5 years in gravure maintenance, and can read technical drawings. English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical certificate in Printing Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in rotogravure or gravure printing.
• Experience with ATN gravure machines is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including bearings, gears, hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals; basic English communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on gravure presses (ATN 660).
• Troubleshoot mechanical and print issues, including alignment and wear.
• Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
• Calibrate and align components during setup.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain maintenance logs and service reports.
• Recommend improvements for machine reliability and performance.
• Work closely with prepress, finishing, and QA teams.
• Train junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and comply with standards.

Job description

The Mechanical Technician (Gravure) is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of gravure printing machines and related mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The placement will be in PT Indo Kreasi Grafika (IKG).

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on gravure printing presses – ATN 660 model
• Identify, troubleshoot, resolve mechanical and print-related issues, including alignment, and component wear
• Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments
• Ensure proper calibration and alignment of mechanical components during setup
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service reports
• Recommend improvements for machine reliability and performance
• Work closely with prepress, finishing, and quality assurance teams
• Train junior technicians or apprentices as needed
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards

About you

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Printing Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance for rotogravure printer, preferably in gravure or printing industry
• Preferably those with experience in ATN machines
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, gears, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Familiarity with gravure printing processes and tension control systems (ATN Machine)
• Able to speak English both orally and in writing
