Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Technical Superintendent for a Ro-Ro vessel based in Surabaya. The role centers on planning and executing PMS and CMS, organizing repairs to deck, engine, electrical, navigation and cargo gear systems, and ensuring adherence to makers' instructions to sustain or improve vessel efficiency.

You will report to the Ship Manager on performance data, visit the vessel at Surabaya to supervise maintenance, conduct quarterly inspections, and prepare maintenance plans and docking

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Maritime Academy/ Seafaring School (Engineering/ATT), with a minimum ATT II.
• Experience in a similar role, particularly handling Ro-Ro vessels is mandatory.
• Willing to work on shore with placement in Head Office, Surabaya.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute PMS and CMS in accordance with procedures and flag/port state requirements.
• Organise repairs to all vessel equipment (deck/engine/electrical/navigation/cargo gear).
• Ensure repairs follow makers' instructions and prudent engineering practice to maintain or improve operation.
• Report vessel performance to the Ship Manager and ensure data accuracy.
• Visit the vessel at Surabaya/home base to verify SMS-compliant maintenance is carried out.
• Conduct quarterly on-board inspections to verify safety, navigation, and machinery operation compliance.
• Develop maintenance/repair/operational plans for budgeting purposes.
• Prepare dry dock repair specifications in addition to vessel repair lists.
• Consult Ship Manager on performance issues and special works per company procedures.
• Assist Ship Manager with docking budget approvals and submit progress reports.
• Monitor personnel performance and conduct evaluations; adjust staffing as needed.
• Handle requisitions from the vessel and coordinate with office fulfillment.
• Coordinate with Ship Management Insurance Department for accident documentation.
• Periodically evaluate contractors and share reports with SMS.
